Abortion: a choice or murder?
Although, a lot of people, especially the religious ones may be quick to conclude that abortion is essentially same with murder as both involves taking someone else’s life. the effect of this kind of conclusion is that it makes abortion a criminal offence just like murder. However, it may be worth a while to review the meaning of murder.
The Merriam Webster dictionary defines it as the killing of another without justification or excuse…

Or wouldn’t it be worse to watch newly-born child should starve till death. In most African and some Asian countries, we have seen cases of children almost starving to death; where the child will be malnourished and even have some serious health problems like malaria and polio due lack of funds to access good medical services. Tell me, who would have been happy to hear that the reason he or she cannot walk is his or her parent’s financial status. Although you may argue that there are family planning and contraceptives that can be used if a family knows it is not ready for a baby. But do you also know that none of them is a 100-percent sure to prevent pregnancy. Or what good will it do the world, to give birth to kids that may end-up being criminals and convicts just because if anyone aborts they will be punished. So, sometimes abortion may be the only way-out when there is an abrupt downturn in a particular family’s financial stance. Again whoever or whichever state still holds the opinion that abortion should be criminalized must be ready to provide for the complete upkeep of the baby if the parents are incapacitated. In short, if it is not a duty or obligation, in the first place, to want a child, then it shouldn’t be a crime, if one does want one any
