(Head, 2017) A direct quote from the amendment Rep. Seaborn Roddenberry proposed, in 1912 be revised to the U.S constitution. Luckily this revision did not pass, but many people in those times agreed with Roddenberry attitude on the subject of interracial marriage. These feelings and downright racism were not primarily targeted at african americans in 1922 Congress passed the Cable Act which targeted Asian Americans by threatening to take away someone's citizenship if they married an “alien ineligible for citizenship,” which due to the race quota at the time mostly meant Asians.
