The last time we left off, a lot of thing happened between Victor and his creation. The monster has finally revealed his true side of the story and the true reasons of his actions. As you see, the monster didn’t have any evil intention to cause harm to mankind but instead he tried his best to help the people that are in poverty as well as understand how the people interacted. In the end, the people didn’t give the monster a chance to be a part of them because they were horrified of what they saw of him. In his attempt to meet the cottage family, he was met with their hatred and fear. This ultimately broke “the only link that held him to the world” (Shelley 99). Eventually, the monster killed William Frankenstein because he was shot and never received gratitude after saving a drowning little girl. The monster never intended to do something evil but it was his emotions that caused him to be rash. Throughout the monster’s tale, I couldn’t help but feel pity towards the monster. As for Victor, he didn’t seem to show any compassion towards the monster because he didn’t really care what the monster went through. I hate that no human gave the monster the chance to fully express himself to the world because I believe the monster is actually good-hearted and not evil.
