Immigration has been a big topic in the United States that dates back centuries. There has been great controversy on whether it should be allowed or not, and there has been recent action to try to reduce the number of illegal immigrants in the country. Although it may be true that there is a big risk factor in immigrating to the United States, people from all over the world immigrate here either legally or illegally to grow economically, seek a better education, and obtain a different lifestyle.

Using Mexico as the primary example, it is noted that it is very difficult for families who earn minimum wage to send their children off to a good college when the affordability rate in Mexico is 110.01%, and the median income is $4,615 USD. (Taylor)There have been many actions taken that have opened the door to education such as the "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” or DACA that allowed to legalized those who have entered the country illegally. Also, There has been a creation of an Undocumented Immigrant Scholarship Fund that helps pay for college for those who “wish to better themselves and their communities”. (Reshef) The quality of their education is also impacted because the U.S is known for having some of the top schools in the world. Apart from there being an extremely limited number of colleges, universities in Mexico do not Compare to those in the U.S. The Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in Mexico City is ranked 175th in the world, while the second best, Tec de Monterrey, comes in at 253’rd in the world. (“Study in Mexico”) Free public schools and a wide variety of scholarships enable more immigrants to achieve greater levels of education that will potentially change not only their lifestyles but the lifestyles of future
