Not one day goes by without me grabbing a book at night, feeding my intellectual curiosity. For there was a time when a book has freed me from invisible restrains. Freed my mind, for it was chained for so long. What make books as amazing as they are, is their ability to take you through the galaxies and beyond while elevating your state of mind. Truly amazing are books are they not? Yet it saddens me to see in some parts of the world books are banned from being published and/or sold. I had to check my calendar and see if I am indeed living in the 21st century, am I? It is not only oppressing the publisher’s freedom of speech, but also the readers’ freedom of choice.

In fact, certain people, anti-Intellectualists, behind the shadows are blindfolding peoples’ minds by banning and censoring books. Do they really think that banning books will result in any good? They ought to think again. Has it not occurred to the “Banners” what would possibly result from banning books? Allow me to elaborate; first I would assume that the reason behind banning materials is for the “Greater good” as they would say, however there is so little good in it. When the masses are bound to read from predetermined number of topics, books and authors, the reader would end up having one side of the truth, if truth was the aim that is. Much like in court, the judge would not rule the case without hearing what both parties have to say. Furthermore, I believe that most issues people encounter arise from the rejection of critical thinking or, conversely, the embracement of the emotional and irrational. I also believe the more banning done on books, the more irrational people become. “Are you not a bit exaggerating?” One might say. Well, I am not. Let me
