Untapped Revenue: Beer Ban-ishment The consumption of alcohol is synonymous with the college experience. No matter how prestigious the institution is, alcohol has and always will find its way on campuses around the country. Whether through Greek life, social groups, or peer-pressure, a large portion of students will consume alcohol in order to alleviate the burdensome stressors college has to offer. Problems arise when students begin abusing alcohol by binge-drinking. Excessive drinking can primarily be found at tailgating events before collegiate football and basketball games. Consequently, when students arrive at the games, they can be loud and boisterous to the point of ad nauseam. This can create a hostile environment for fellow spectators and pedestrians. However, by being able to purchase alcohol at concession stands during collegiate games, college students will be less inclined to abuse alcohol while tailgating, and rather consume it in moderation.
