Imagine walking to The University of Notre Dame’s college football stadium on a sixty-two degree autumn night. All you have to be is a mile within its proximity to know what is going on. The miracle of college sports. The closer you get the louder it gets. Tens of thousands of college kids, adults, adolescents, and kids all cheering for their team. As you enter the stadium you take one deep breath and look around to see a wave of blue. All Notre Dame fans. All of your friends. All of your peers. All there. Sports and college go hand in hand like two peas in a pod. The benefits of having sports in college are endless. College sports are a saviour for kids all around the world. Even more american than apple pie, college sports entertain everybody. On the weekends during fall classic games of football and the growing sport of soccer, the entire week when winter comes around, basketball hits the court. Many people just look at scholarships as free mooney. However, it is much more than financial aid. According to “How Will a Scholarship Help Achieve Your Career and Education Goals”, “Students can focus on their carers and instead of how to repay student loans.” This quote shows how students can be more focused on school and grades instead of thinking of how to repay student loans. To add, Sarah Muhuran thinks that scholarships mean more time for learning and studying, which can mean better grades. Finally, Sarah states, “Earning a prestigious athletic scholarship can actually make you a more appealing job candidate.” This means that if you show that you were able to compete in college sport while managing your grades, you are more likely to get the job you want because of your skill set.
