There was a dog scrunched up on the roots of a tall redwood. With the rain pounding on the road, the dog would do anything to find a warm, cozy shelter, and food. There are about 7.6 million pets that get abandoned in a year in just the U.S. Don’t follow careless owners’ mistakes- change them back into achievements by helping, where there are many options you can choose. According to Animal Rights, one useful option is to take part in petitions. Petitions about this cause can help people understand more about pet abandonment. Getting a reasonable amount of signatures can speak by itself; that this many people want to get involved in your cause. To reach a goal of any reasonable number of signatures, it can help if you go to a public site. A popular place with many people can attract signers. But, letting people know in other countries with a petition can be difficult. A solution to this is to set up a page on social media or create a website. Many people have discarded this idea because they're not in a money-spending zone. But, even small donations can help buy some supplies for the shelter. The money can buy supplies such as, food, treats, other food items, and bathing equipment. Some people also donate goods that could be useful to shelters, and sometimes they aren’t brand new. If you can’t afford to buy brand-new items, used items such as a towel can still be useful for various uses. Since approximately more than seven million pets a year are gone to shelters nationwide, shelters definitely will need some money and donations that can help keep them
