For many people growing up in an abusive lifestyle they are more than likely to carry on the “tradition” of abusing. “ "Thief! Helping someone find a good home for foster children might be a difficult task to do, but it's not impossible. The work it takes could be long and extensive, but with the help of a good social worker, will always get done. Every year millions of children get placed in foster care, social workers are often overwhelmed trying to find adequate foster parents. Although some foster parents are caring for these children for the wrong reasons; there are still some good foster parents that are caring for the child, to benefit the child.
We all end up lucky or unfortunate. We get lucky with the parents that love and care for us, and unfortunate with the ones who do not want us, or don’t care for us. For foster kids, they go through several houses with several different families. Sometimes these families are not the ideal family, and there is abuse and neglect in these homes. Foster kids never really get a break until they are adopted by a loving family.

Not a lot of people think about this. Usually, the only people that do think about this is children that are experiencing or have experienced this problem. The United States abolished slavery in 1865, the 13th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states, "neither slavery nor involuntary servitude...shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction" (The United States Constitution). We never thought that over one-hundred years later there would be a new form of slavery that has affected so many people around the globe. Human trafficking is another name for modern-day slavery, where the victims involved are forced, coerced and deceived into labor and sexual exploitation. Most human trafficking victims are forced into the trade by the false promises made regarding job opportunities. Many women from third world countries are lured into this trade with the bait of false marriages or false jobs.
We live in a complex, unpredictable world, filled with an array of family styles and personalities. Whether or not we recognize it, the family in which one is raised or currently resides plays a pivotal role in their development and opportunities. While we should not blame our circumstance on where we came from, it is crucial that we understand how our childhood influences why we are the way we are. One phenomenon that affects several families, particularly ones with low-income, is parentification. Parentification, also known as the role-reversal of a parent and a child, is not inherently harmful for a child, but it is important to look at the situation objectively and consider the risk-factors.
Now after listing some of the official organization that are using technology to help end this form of slavery, I would like to list some of the ways we, in this modern age, can help end this grievous crime. It might be easy to hear the facts about human trafficking, but fall into the false idea that it is simply up to our government and other such groups to deal with this important issue, and this is simply not true, in our technology advanced day and age it is now easier than ever to help do our part to help end this horror. Anyone can and should join in the fight against human trafficking, we can do this by, learning the indicators of human trafficking so you can help identify a potential trafficking victim. Human trafficking awareness training is available for individuals, businesses, first responders, law enforcement, educators, and federal employees, and many others. You can work with a local religious community or congregation to help stop trafficking by supporting a victim service provider or spreading awareness of human trafficking or encourage your local schools to partner with students and include modern slavery in their curricula.
