Child labor has been around since the beginning of time using its first forms indentured servitude and child slavery. But, child labor wasn 't a problem until the late 1700’s and since then it 's only become more popular. It sadly still exists today, even after all the problems discovered about it. Although it is outlawed in many countries, it still exists in numerous others. child labor should be outlawed in all countries because it can cause health issues in children, such as mental issues, lack of hygiene, and malnourishment. Child labor has been a major issue since the Industrial Revolution, which has led to Child Abuse such as human trafficking, rape, and prostitution. Also, child labor leaves children to experience no childhood, preventing them from education, sports, and extracurricular activities. …show more content…

Abuse is one of the most common factors that come with child labor. The common types of abuse that go with child labor are prostitution, rape, human trafficking, and assault. Imagine children constantly getting abused because they are not working fast enough and getting punished for it. Children are getting abused as time is passing right now because of something they didn 't choose. Children don 't choose to work, they do it because they are forced to and have no other options in their life. Child labor bosses could even abuse them by not giving them bathroom breaks, lunch breaks, or even a day off. “An overview of studies in 21 countries (mostly developed) found that 7-36% of women and 3-29% of men reported sexual victimization during childhood, and the majority of studies found girls to be abused at 1.5-3 times the rate for males. Most of the abuse occurred within the family circle.” (Unite for Sight).” If children experience any type of abuse at a young age they will think its ok to do it when they 're older. Abuse can hinder a child 's emotions and cause depression, which could even lead to suicide. 2.7 million healthy lives are lost from child labor
