Academic theories have been debated for years on what’s ethical and unethical. One of the things that is still being debated is on redshirting. Redshirting is when a child has been held back a year from starting school so the child can reach the parents expectation of maturity. It has been debated on whether or not this gives you more success. Redshirting doesn’t give an individual more or less success in life, it doesn’t last more than the first few years of schooling, it pushes the children who weren’t redshirted to learn at levels for kids a year older than them, and the kids who were redshirted won’t be pushed hard enough in their schooling.
Millions of Americans are watching March Madness. Advertisers make millions, and so do schools and the NCAA, but not the players. Just this weekend, President Barack Obama said it's time for the NCAA to rethink the way it protects and punishes athletes. "The students need to be taken better care of because they are generating a lot of revenue. It doesn't matter whether they get cut, it doesn't matter whether they get hurt.
College sports are a major part of American culture. College athletes devote hours upon hours a week to their sports training, but unfortunately, sports can take up a lot of time and distract from other important activities. This can harm academics, as athletes have to balance sports and academics, especially at a college. Participating in sports is almost like working a part-time job and having to balance school too which can be difficult to do, and focus may be rendered on one task and not both. Furthermore, athletes will be on scholarships too, which is why college athletes should not be paid.
The Ohio State Buckeyes Football team is famous for two things, winning national championships and having the best fans on the planet. People in Ohio are fanatic about football and with good cause. The Buckeyes are part of the Big Ten Conference and you best be prepared to see some exciting and tough football. Even the best of fans may not be able to make some of the games. Fear not, there are options to watch the games on line.
While some believe that athletes should have their own choice at making a decision to go pro straight out of high school, they should not do so because they will not be able to manage their million dollar contracts respectively. Speaking of contracts, the NBA should eliminate guaranteed contracts for rookies drafted in the first round of the NBA draft. They should do this because a careless high school kid, could just go into the draft not knowing, or caring on how much they are going to make, with the lack of experience on handling millions of dollars. This is very unrepsonsibible for a teenager, and not only for the high school athlete, but also for the basketball association as well. This is because of there noncommitment to have these players
People say that NBA players don’t need college and people say they need college to be eligible for the NBA. I really think players need 2-4 years of college; people don’t look at the grand scheme of things and realize there so many ideas to why players should go to college before NBA. On the other people have other ideas of why players need college before NBA. Some sports fans don’t care how great college is for a player. College gives the player a lot of opportunities and many things to succeed in.
Paying College Athletes This essay I’m going to talk about paying college athletes and why we should pay them a little bit of money. I think we should pay college athletes a little bit of money. I have some facts and reasons why we should to back up reason why we should. Here are my facts and reasons to support my opinion about this topic.
The article highlights the exploitation of college athletes, who often generate millions of dollars in revenue for their universities but receive little compensation and face significant barriers to academic success. The demands of sports, such as long hours of practice and travel, can make it difficult for student athletes to prioritize their education and may students will start to fall behind their fellow classmates and not have a chance to pass the class or even graduate on time. Additionally, the article notes that many student athletes come from disadvantaged backgrounds and lack the resources and support systems necessary to excel academically. When given an opportunity to compete in college as an athlete many of these kids forget that they still have to participate in school and coming from their background as struggling students itll be even harder for them to learn in the college environment. If they struggled from elementary to high school there is a little chance that they will be able to be above average in college and without the money or help given by the school it makes it even worse.
An Argument for College Sports Ever since I can remember I have been a die-hard Oklahoma fan. No doubt this is due to my father’s love for team, which was passed down by his father. I guess it runs in our family, because every Saturday during football season most of my is family huddled tightly around our TV watching the game. College sports are a very big deal in America, and huge universities are benefiting from them.
I believe you should let your kids have the right to choose if they want to play a contact sport or not. They are being active, increasing their physical health, improving their self image, teaches them to work with others peers, ect. If we are worried about kids getting injured, why should we get rid of the whole sport as a solution and not just get better equipment? We can 't keep kids away from everything that could cause a risk forever. Majority of kids won 't have long-lasting injuries anyways.
College Sports 56 percent of student athletes in high school are given an athletic scholarship of some kind. That means that colleges are getting a lot of athletes. A lot of money is going towards these scholarships, but it can be a good thing. Colleges should support their because athletes can bring money to the school even though money is going towards the athletes and some of these sports can make the college more appealing which brings more people and money in.
(Hook) How would you feel if you worked hours making your company millions of dollars and they didn’t pay you? (Bridge) Many student athletes spend as much time practicing and competing as people do working. Plus spend many hours going to class and studying. Athletes do not have time to get a part time like many student.
