Drills may be annoying, but they’re very important. This building is full of teenagers. Everyone knows that teenagers freak out over every little thing. If we didn’t have drills then if there was an emergency getting to safety would be even more difficult and crazy than it is anyway. During fire drills we’re told to walk calmly out the nearest exit to one of the parking lot. Practicing this ensures that all of the students will be aware how to get out, as well as where to meet their respective teachers during such an emergency. Truthfully, if there was actually a fire things wouldn’t go as smoothly as they go during a drill, since we are aware that there isn’t a real emergency. Teenagers are naturally loud, so being quiet in a tense situation is a skill that should really be rehearsed. Especially when everything has to run smoothly. When in the main classroom we should line up quietly and quickly at the door and walk out with the other students, turning the lights off and locking the door behind us. We walk quiety and calmly out the door to the parking lot, where we stand and let Mr. Fergin count us to make sure we’re all there. Then we just wait for the ok from the security guard to go back in and proceed with our regularly scheduled programming. If you happen to be in the practice rooms, you can just walk outside and find the rest of the class. Most likely people in the practice room would meet the rest of the class in the hallway. In the event of a tornado drill, we hide behind the risers and pack together. We used to go to the hallway and cover our head, but it was revealed that doing this would leave our spine open for falling debris, which could be even worse than our head being exposed. When we sit behind the risers we should be quiet and make sure our heads are covered. If you are in the practice rooms you should find a table to sit under so that you couldn’t be hit by falling debris. You could
