While a five-day school week is good there are some good benefits to a four-day school week. If schools, go to a four-day week there might be fewer students and teachers that miss a day of school. Also, educators and children get more time to rest and more time to get things done around the house. Teachers would get more time to grade work and plan lessons. Children would have more time to be kids on a five-day school week. While a five-day week is good a four-day week is better, there are fewer absences, and students have more time to do things.
Schools can save a little money if they do not have to spend as much on utilities. Busses would run twenty percent less, saving fuel according to one county in Tennessee. The school will have to spend a little less money on school lunches. Even though a four-day week has longer schooldays and some cons associated, a four-day school week may be better that a five-day week for students and schools. They are not as tiered, and it is less money for districts to spend. There are a lot of benefits to both a four- and five-day school week, but a four-day one just seems like it would be better. A four-day week is better for teachers because they have more things to do, and they can get a lot of chores and duties done at school and on the weekends at home. However, that may not be the case for all teachers. Teachers may have more time for planning and grading papers. Students will have more time for doctor appointments and other appointments that they have, and teachers will have time for appointments also. Teachers and students all have more time to do things outside of school on the weekends. Although a four-day week is good there are some good things about a five-day school week
