In a broken down shelter there is a young boy who is very small in stature, thin as a tree branch, with ragged clothes falling off of him. His shoes are non existent, as he carefully tip toes on the broken concrete with many glass shards laying around. He lives in a run down building with many of its pieces decaying, much like the children that live inside. The food is scarce and what can be found in the cabinets is barely edible. Many of the boys, much like Hovey, longed to be adopted, but the sad reality of it, is that many of them will never be adopted because of the decreasing adoption rates from the U.S. and many other countries not willing to work with one another on foreign adoption, not to mention the increase children being made from young people getting pregnant and putting their kids up for adoption. …show more content…
