88 percent of adoptive parents describe themselves as a “happy” couple, while 83 percent of non-adoptive parents describe themselves as a “happy” couple… 62 percent of children adopted privately are placed with the adoptive family when they are newborns or less than one year old”(American Adoptions). Kids or babies are put up for adoption if their original parents don’t want to take care of them anymore, so the parents have the option to put their child up for adoption. Which will allow the child to have a fun filled and exciting life with a family who would take care of them better than their original parents would. Saving children who want to live a normal and happy life is what every parent wants for kids around the world that are in need of a warm and happy home. Putting them up for adoption is the best option for them. “To his surprise, his father began very carefully to direct the needle into the top of the new child’s forehead, puncturing the place where the fragile skin pulsed. The newborn squirmed, and wailed faintly” (Lowry 149). Would any parent want to go through with killing their child because they don’t want to take care of them anymore. This is the amazing point of adoption because giving the children the chance of living a normal life, is what every kid dreams of every night before they go to bed. Having to kill a child because a couple of parents wither didn’t plan for a child or came closer to having this child and found out that they couldn’t afford them. There will always be a family out there that is welcome to taking in a kid even if it is until they have a permanent home. Also there is the option of being foster parents, which is where couples who don’t necessarily want to take in a couple of kids full time, they could just have them for a short time while they find the perfect match of parents for this
