I should be considered for the Kaiser Permanente Health Care Scholarship because I have proved and accomplished more than what I thought I would be capable of in my education, I am passionate for the health industry, and I financially need to be to succeed. I will continue my education by pursuing my goal to become a Registered Nurse. I first considered Registered Nursing when I joined the Health Academy and realized how passionate I was to help others. Throughout my years in the Health Academy, my passion grew drastically. My summer of 2015 was dedicated to two internships; one being a Medical Assistant (200 hours) and another as a Physical Therapy Aide (80 hours).
The film, “Escape Fire” highlights important problems of the health care system today and the roots of these problems. One of the first problems that the movie brings up is the cost of health care The US spends more than 2.7 trillion dollars per year on health care, which is a strikingly higher number than spent in other countries and yet other countries who spend much less have a higher life expectancy and overall health in their populations. I found this very shocking, because while I knew that the government spends a lot on health care I didn’t realize that, despite the exorbitant costs, our overall health was actually much worse than other countries. The movie examines the reasons for this discrepancy and notes that most of the money
I am writing you this brief letter because of my concern for the shortage of primary care physicians in the United States associated with the Affordable Care Act. The Association of American Medical Colleges has brought great attention to the fact that the United States could possibly be short 46,000 to 90,000 physicians by the year 2025. 2 The reality of a shortage of primary care physicians weighs very strongly on me because of the fact that I am pursuing a career in physical therapy.
Free healthcare for everyone I believe everyone deserves to be given free healthcare if they can not afford it. Plenty of people are dying because we don’t have coverage for everyone. More people are needing universal healthcare and we should be able to give it to those in need. This is making us look so bad to other countries.
Ethical Healthcare Issue Paper The primary purpose of this paper is to show how important health care laws, regulations and policies throughout the years have impacted health care. Identify Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) According to "Business Dictionary.com" (2015), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), has “Provided protection for patients from medical personnel decisions to disclose medical and financial information to third parties.” This act was designed to regulate patient identity theft and insurance fraud.”
In this world today I 've noticed that there have been way more homeless people and I always said that why can 't we find ways to help the homeless out so that they could have a good lifestyle. One thing i notice is that a lot of it is people are greedy with their money. There is enough food in the world so that everyone could eat and be healthy and the homeless are in need of that. This has become a problem in the world today because people act like they are homeless and they are not so people don 't want to help out, but what about the people that are homeless they need money, food , clothing and more, but people mess that up for them. People in this day in age try to have everything but why wouldn 't you want to help a homeless person out you could really change their life.
Health care is the maintenance and improvement of physical and mental health, especially through the provision of medical services. Don 't you believe that this is a right and dignity of all people should be able to have. Your body should be taken care of no matter the gender, race, health,or social economic back ground it is a right. Health care deserves to be able to be taken care of. I believe that universal health care for everyone is very important it will benefit people from the richest to the poorest.
Imagine if you were in need of a transplant and was waiting for the day when you found your donor match. Many recipients are stuck on the waitlist for a donor and sometimes even pass away because the waitlist took too long. To avoid this issue, a few ideas or systems should be considered in order to make the process quicker. Currently organ donations only consist of hair, blood plasma, and sperm and egg. Since removing your kidney is a riskier procedure than donating your hair, receiving money for the process will influence people to donate.
“A doctor’s visit,” I complained to my mom. Americans despise having to drive twenty minutes to the doctor’s office, while there are patients who are desperate for medical help although their best chance is miles and miles away. Inaccessibility to health care is something that we, as well-privileged individuals, are unaware of. We have the luxury of visiting the doctor for a routine check-up, but there are people who are suffering life-threatening diseases and never get to avail the medical help they urgently need. I endured this desperation when my dad was without a job for a year.
Healthcare is something everyone needs and should be able to get, but right now that is not happening. In America there are millions of people who don’t have healthcare insurance. This is because some can’t afford the insurance plan. There are also millions more who have health insurance, but can’t afford using it. This means that they are paying for an insurance plan, but the deductibles are so high they can’t afford to go to the doctor.
This may explain why little is done to formulate policies that would help the poor access quality healthcare and the treatment of doctors to patient
Norman Daniels argues if health care should be a human right, and if it is, what that right should encompass. To play devil's advocate I am going to look at healthcare from a libertarian viewpoint and say that healthcare should not be a right. Many liberals believe that every American should have access to health insurance. Now yes this is true, we all should be able to access healthcare since it is a basic need in our society, however some blur the lines and say that healthcare should be a human right rather than a good.
In my opinion I think healthcare should be free. I think that by healthcare being free we would be able to help more people than the limits currently present. For example, so many people can 't afford to get the help they need especially the one 's that need major surgeries. I think that today 's society is so consumed with making a profit off of healthcare in general that they forget to see the bigger picture. The bigger picture being why healthcare was first established to help those who are in need and to establish affordability.
One in ten children and adolescents will experience a period of major depression (“Mental Health Myths and Facts”). Many avoid the topic of mental health like the plague. In truth, people should be able to talk about mental illness and its repercussions on society and the individual. A minority of those affected with mental illnesses get help. Therefore, it is important to discuss possible solutions to helping those who suffer get treatment.
