In America high school students are put under a lot of pressure. At the age of fourteen we should already be looking at colleges, deciding what we want to be and to do all this we need to excel in high school. We need to get outstanding GPA's, score perfectly on tests, contribute to the community, but most of all participate in sports. Sports are a way for many kids to escape and run some steam off at the end of the day. But I think some people don't understand the danger of them as well. Thousands of sports related concussions occur each year in the United States. Thankfully, people have started to realize that head trauma isn't something to take lightly. When a medical professional is checking their head to make sure they don't have a concussion they are more concerned on how quickly they can play again, when they should really be thinking; "what is best for this teenager?". How will this affect his future, will he have permanent brain damage caused by "second impact syndrome"? Second impact syndrome is when you have an additional concussion while you're recovering from your previous one.
