In January 2010, 564, 708 people were homeless on a given night in the United States. While about 6 percent of the general population suffers from severe mental illness, 20 to 25 percent of the homeless suffer from severe mental illness, according to studies. 50% of these people have been homeless for 3 years, 206,286 were people in families, and 358,422 were individuals. I say this with optimism, The Government must provide funding for local community services as required nationwide. However only 25% of those Citizens are receiving the local funds. There’s 358,422 Homeless individuals that have yet to be included in this funding. In recent years, media reports of a growing economy and low unemployment mask. A number of important reasons why homelessness continues, and, in some areas of the country, is worsening. These include stationary or falling incomes, and less secure jobs that offer fewer benefits. Now, as the United States experiences the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, the homeless population has increased significantly. Worsening the economy and rising unemployment numbers emphasize a number of reasons why homelessness continues to exist and grow in exponential numbers in the United States. The U.S. jobless rate was 9.6 percent in 2010. Not only were half of these people jobless they were homeless are well. The government changed the deadline for the individual by declaring that customers who purchased health insurance by May 14 would avoid the tax penalty.
