In our fast growing economy, especially in California, homelessness proves to be an ever growing problem. According to the U.S Interagency Council on Homelessness, in California, the total homeless people on a given night is 134,278. With the numbers broken down into groups, the largest group consist of people that chronically experience homelessness; the number totals to 37,360. Additionally, the second largest group is unaccompanied young adults; there are 15,458 homeless young adults on a given night (Total People Experiencing). Of course, there is still a stigma on homelessness because of the harmful rhetoric used to describe the homeless population. As a result, I want to spread awareness to the homeless issue in America, mainly California. My purpose is to educate the general public on the heartbreak realities of homelessness and create a blog where people can seek help and be educated. I decided to use a blog to provide accurate information through multiple types of posts and my opinion to inform my audience about the homeless situation in California.
To begin, I had to learn how to create the blog because it’s my first time creating a blog. Of course, I used Google to find articles that taught me the steps of creating a blog. It taught me to create a blog with a simplistic theme and write compelling content. A good blog should be genuine, transparent, and truthful (Millburn).
