Immigration is a widely debated topic around the United States, and the election of President Donald Trump has brought up much of this. America has always had immigration laws, but it has become a problem, especially when there are people such as terrorists illegally entering the country. What I think is distressing is that people are trying to defend illegal immigrants, which should not be the case. I have no complication with immigrants until they start coming into the country illegally. As long as they are legal citizens of the United States, I do not care where that person is from. Most countries that have immigration laws are very strong, established countries. However, as soon as you take away immigration laws, there is chaos and people do almost whatever they want. It is a common criticism of people that are for strong immigration laws to be called racist. This article written on March 17th, 2018, discusses the shocking number of immigrants that are illegal and must be arrested because of that and often other crimes. Federal immigration officers had to arrest 115 people in San Diego amid tensions between the Trump Administration and the state of California regarding immigration enforcement. They had already arrested 212 people in Los Angeles and 232 people in the Northern California area the month before.
