Have you ever felt like you were trapped in a pitch black room, with a spotlight beaming straight down on only you? This is how it feels to be different. Everyone knows it, sometimes even before you do. People sense your feelings and they feed off of them. They take your biggest insecurities and flaunt them around in front of your face. Wouldn’t you want to rescue even just one person from this pain and embarrassment? This is why the right to a sex change is a very important right. It teaches you how to love. You can’t deny the inevitable, you are who you are by default. In fact, 1.7% of the population today is made up of individuals that were born with Ambiguous Genitalia, which is a birth defect that makes your gender unclear, also known as intersex. (Ambiguous Genitalia). That 1.7% makes being born with both male and female parts as common as having red hair (Hida). An intersex born child must rely on it’s parents must make an important decision. They must choose which gender they would want their child to be. As a baby, you don’t have much of a personality; therefore, your parents would be making the biggest decision of your life basically blindfolded. As the individual grows up, you may find out that you, as a parent, made the wrong choice. This may lead your child to wanting to forgo a sex change to correct themselves. What if they weren’t allowed? Even before they’re older, an intersex baby would still be required to go through many transgender related surgeries and remedies. If a sex change was forbidden, can you imagine the life that an intersex person would be forced to live? You would be stuck feeling uncomfortable and out of place for your whole
