The controversy stemming from the 1973 landmark case Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion in all 50 states, has been a frequent topic throughout American history and politics. For many years, this has caused the nation to be split between those who are pro-life (against abortion) and pro choice (for abortion) with reasons ranging from religion versus a woman’s anatomical right to her body. In recent years, the federal right to abortion for women has been overturned by the Supreme Court Ruling of Roe v. After doing my research, it’s stated that 96% of pro-life biologists believe that human life begins at fertilization which has fueled the foundation of this argument. Combined with the costs of baby products, housing, food, etc. to support a child, it’s extremely costly to have a child. This is why I feel like it’s unfair to force a woman to give birth and life to a child she cannot afford to support. By raising a child while struggling financially, it ultimately forces the child into a cycle of continued economic
