The use of marijuana in the U.S. has become a concern to many American. For many years Americans has really had a drug use and abuse problems that has affected their families and the future of our county. Every year thousands of people die from drug overdose or some sort of violence related to drugs. Marijuana has been considered a drug for a very long time but some American believe that is should be legalize because it is not a drug. All across the United States many states have begun to legalize Marijuana after years of protest and citizens demand. There are not any cases in which marijuana has been proven to be lethal and I think that it is a lot safer than alcohol and alcohol is legal as long as you are of legal age, which is 21 in most states. Twenty-three states and Washington D.C have enacted laws to legalize medical marijuana and four states has legalized the purchase of marijuana for recreational use. Drug use usually has a negative effect on one’s health and may cause death but over the years cannabis has been proven to have legitimate medical effects. Many people don’ want t accept and believe that marijuana can be used for medicinal purposes but studies has given them something to believe. Cannabis has been shown to help reduce and alleviate the chronic pain that those with AIDS and cancer experience after chemotherapy. There one this severe case where this little child, Charlotte Figi had been having very bad seizures ever since she was 3 month olds. As she grew older the doctors had final diagnosed her with a rare severe form an epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome. Charlotte, who was now six years old had been having seizures every day and doctors had not been able to find any medication
