Growing up, everyone is told that “Drugs are bad for you.” As a kid you don’t really understand the reasoning behind this claim, but you listen to the authority figure regardless. But in actuality are all drugs truly bad and have no beneficial aspects. Today, as you look around you realized that it doesn't matter, people still use drugs no matter the legality. Specifically the drug at topic is marijuana, and today it is all around us. There is potential to be seen here and could actually help our country out. Millions of people will still be smoking marijuana on the daily, regardless of the legality. Our government is actually wasting money, putting us more in debt when they could pass a bill legalizing marijuana and in return it could potentially stabilize our economy. They would be able to collect taxes on what was once the black market and cut spending on illegitimate purposes such as the war on marijuana. Medically this plant has shown great success helping millions cope with their pains or illnesses. Marijuana potentially is the world's largest cash crop, but we have still yet to cash it in. This will continue to be a huge sociological issue in our society as citizens have different views both on opposite sides of the argument. Possible ways to furthermore look at and come to conclusions about this issue are to study the several states that have legalized the drug and keep a close eye on their economy, death rate numbers, and unemployment rates. See if thier is a pattern that benefits them and conclude on that, or is this theory all just hidden behind the smoke of what people want more then they
