Intro- Life's better in 2017 than 1968. In 1968, for one, there was a horrible, bloody war in Vietnam. Also, Children are not forced into child labor. Schools now allow students for a better education and prepare them for work. Women are more important now than they were in 1968.
One reason life is better now is because of the war between The U.S.A and Vietnam. Today, we really don't have much to worry about. Back then, you had to be worried about an invasion from the vietnamese. Evidence for this is, “The Vietnam War was a long, costly and divisive conflict that pitted the communist government of North Vietnam against South Vietnam and its principal ally, the United States. The conflict was intensified by the ongoing Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union. More than 3 million people (including over 58,000 Americans) were killed in the Vietnam War, and more than half of the dead were Vietnamese civilians”(History.com) this evidences shows that the war was a huge part in people's lives back then. In 1968, black men and women were treated much differently than nowadays. They were separated from white people, whites believing that black people were lower than them. Evidence for this is,” Throughout the 60's, racism changed dramatically in a various number of ways. Changes involved the passage of bills into laws as well as involving the overall attitude of the people.
