In a person's life they have many different choices.Some choices take very little thinking and then others do not. If you had the choice do have someone help you die in a difficult situation? Would you make another person go through the pain of losing a loved one and their last memory be killing you? Mental competence is a very important factor in deciding who should be able to have medically assisted suicide but no one should so there should not be any qualifications. Also there are many different ways you can treat a mental patient and a patient that is terminally ill instead of giving them death and the ability to not fight for their lives.
