Persuasive Essay On Minimum Wage

Just recently my attention was brought to the fact that servers should be getting paid minimum wage, or so they say they should.

Decades ago this would have been something that I would have opposed to, but the way the economy is nowadays with the cost of living being so high I agree with these petitioners. The cost of everyday living increases each year. To be able to make a living, minimum wage isn't enough in this day and age. The world changes constantly, why doesn't the paid hourly rate change with everything else like rent, gas, electric, water, cable, and other monthly bills we need to survive.

Waiters work very hard and sometimes strenuous hours for there bosses, sometimes they have to cover somebody's shift who didnt make it to work when they were scheduled to. Without servers how would we oaying customers get the proper expierence from a resturant we deserve? how would we get what we needed immediately from the kitchen to our table? we wouldn't. All resturants would be dinners at that point.

Fact is, we dont appreciate this type of service ever when we go out to enjoy a delicious meal. In fact most of the time at the end of dinner, we see it as a chore, or hassle to have to tip the waiter or waitress that hosted us the entire time we were seated. They greet you with a friendly smile, make sure you have everything you need to get the best service, and send you that same friendly smile right before you leave. Managers have to look out for the best interest of the company, profit wise, but without the waitress/waiter there is no buisness. No profits to be made at all period.

Finally, instead of just saying no to the petitioners, why don't we try to reduce the cost of certain products, or change the hours of the resturant so theyre is more buisness and work to be done. There is always a way to compromise with both sides and this specific topic i truly believe that servers deserve at least minimum wage pay as well as healthy
