Minimum Wage In the United States the minimum wage was set to 7.25 as of July 2016. There are some jobs which are more competative than others therefore, the employees might ask for a higher wage. There are many other jobs which are more dangerous and require more complicated things to do and are still only getting paid just a little bit above that, which is not fair because minimum wage workers do not have much to do and are getting paid almost as much. Minimum wage is currently at a good rate right now. There really is no need to raise the workers pay unless they are willing to pay more for their things. In order for them to get paid more the money has to come from somewhere and money does not grow on trees. Business owners would have to increase the prices of theit goods in order to make more money to pay the employees. People want better pay but do not think about the outcome. If wages are raised then where is the money going to come from? It will not just start falling out of the sky so obviously the owners have to come up with a plan. Now what they do in order to get the money would be to increase the prices on their goods, that way the company would be making more profit off of their goods and the owners would have a higher quantity of money in their pockets and also going into their employees paychecks. The paying customer would go elsewhere to buy that same product due to the fact that the company has increased their prices. Why would anyone want to pay more for the same product when they could get it elsewhere for much cheaper. Minimum wage is a job killer and only boosts pay for a handful of people and destroys jobs which causes businesses to shut
