Right now, there is a worldwide shortage of organs donated that can be used for transplantations. Therefore there is organ trafficking going on all over the world although it is illegal in all countries except for Iran. Organ trafficking causes a lot of problems including medical health problems. Because this trade is illegal and has not been organized by a professional, the recipients do not know where or who it has come from, or they are usually tricked into believing that it is one of their relative’s. Because of this, the receiver often end up getting in a worse condition than before. Also, donors are usually promised a large amount of money, but they often end up not getting as much money as they were promised. The people who donate their organs are mostly from poor and developing countries because they need money desperately. Some solutions to illegal organ trading includes replacing black markets with legal markets, constructing better networks for organ donations, raising awareness of the need of organs, curing the diseases that cause organ failure, and developing better and stricter laws to prohibit the trafficking.
