In this world today, there are many cases of police brutality going on right now. For some cases, police shouldn’t have acted the way that they did. There are multiple reasons for why police brutality occur and must be removed for it to occur less. Police brutality happens to all races, but the main race is African American people.
The best way to stop police brutality is to stop the cops. Nobody should be harassed or threatened by police because, they're in a bad mood or going through things. We have the great cops and awful cops, around a small amount of those cops still go manhandling their power and abuse their authority. If observers weren't filming cops when they are using excessive force, numerous cases wouldn't be what they are
However, research demonstrates that often times men of color are treated harshly which leads to negative perceptions of police officers. Police brutality is a crime that is has been surfacing in the news recently. Some people are just starting to realize that these injustices against the black community really occur, while others are well aware. The recent shootings, different run-ins with officers being filmed while doing such harmful actions against African American men is an example of police brutality and, that reminds us that as a society work needs to be done to improve police and community relations. A black male cannot even walk down the street on a cold night because he might be a suspect from something or he may be of danger to the people around.
Are we protected? Police Brutality is not a racial issue, it’s a social issue. Police brutality is a serious social issue occurring in the United States to say that we are united. This is a vital affair that is needed to be addressed to the three branches of government as soon as possible.
There has been many controversial issues about the “stop-and-frisk” law. One side believes that it is racially profiling the communities of minorities and the other side believes that it is helping communities rise away from violence. There is a lot of history and background on stop-and-frisk and how it originated in the United States, especially in different places around the world. This law has been very controversial even within the law itself, so controversial states are debating on getting rid of it completely. Many politicians speak on this tactic in both positive and negative ways and the statistical growths and decreases on this topic.

Over the past couple of years America has begun to acknowledge police brutality as a serious problem. While state-sanctioned violence towards individuals of varying races of color is not new, the documentation through dash-cams and civilian cellphone footage has brought the brutality to light.
This report is showing light to the communities’ response to police brutality particularly in the black communities and also their encounters with police officers. Police brutality is physical violence and great cruelty demonstrated by a police officer. Police brutality and misconduct have existed for many decades and it even has been broadcasted in news stories over America, but nothing has changed. It has happened predominantly to African Americans in lower-income states. Police officers are given slaps on the wrist for taking a life or injuring an innocent person.
Law enforcement is ensuring an act of obedience to the law. Police officers often take advantage of enforcing the law and end up using violence when it 's not necessary. According to the Washington post ( 2015 ) every 28 hours an unarmed colored person is killed by a police officer. I think it is time for these and other victims who were treated unjustly by police officers to get justice. These deadly law enforcement incidents must come to an end.
“Hate crime” laws are defined as a crime based around a prejudice. There are two different types of hate crimes. One type of law gives a specific group protection that other people do not have. The penalty enhancement law is the other, and this law “requires that a defendant receive a stiffer sentence if it can be proved that the victim was chosen due to prejudice” (citation).
Police Brutality is an ongoing problem and existent concern in the United States and should be resolved immediately. Law enforcement must function as an element that consists of organized and civilized officers. The presence of police brutality is becoming more of an issue as society grows. The problem posed by the illegal exercise of police power is an ongoing reality for individuals of a disfavored race, class, or sexual orientation. Police brutality must be stopped so that police do not forget who they are serving – not themselves, but the public.
Police brutality will be an issue until a solution is created. Many individuals are victims of this form of assault on daily basis. The liberties held by law enforcement are challenged each time they perform their duties. Police officers should abide by the same laws that each citizen is expected to abide by. Although police officers are granted with the right to determine laws as constitutional, civilians are sometimes treated in ways that are beyond unlawful.
Everyday Police officers are serving our nation, state, county, and city. Their duty is to help product and to provide a safe environment to the community. Often officer face dangerous scenarios and are at risk everyday. Depending on where an officer works, will usually determine how much he/she is paid and what they do on a daily basis. Well a question that often arises, should law enforcement officers be paid higher wages, because of what they do for the community?
There are many crimes that are committed in today's society, but one big crime that is committed every single day are hate crimes. Hate crimes are consisted of any criminal offense against a person, property, or society that is motivated by the offenders bias against race, religion, sexual orientation, or ethnicity/national origin (Schmalleger, 2014). I've chosen to pick religion and race to write about and how much it can change someone else's life. Religion has always been a controversial topic, because of all the different religions and some people not being religious. The Uniform Crime Reporting Program stated that in 2012, there were 1,340 victims of an anti-religious hate crime.
There are many pros and cons when it comes to the use of police force. The use of force is strictly a part of the job requirement of protecting and serving our community. It is the everyday battles that force police to make decisions that may seem a bit harsh at times. The use of force is only acceptable under certain circumstances and should only be used when absolutely needed. There are cases when civilians are saved by the use of police force, and there are cases when innocent people are hurt or even killed by the use of police force.
[ Imagine this scenario: you are complying with the police that are screaming at you, guns pointed at you, screaming “please don 't shoot” and trying your best to do what the police are asking. Daniel Shaver was an unarmed man fatally shot for no good reason. He was complying with the police officers orders and was begging for his life, screaming “please don’t shoot,” before he was fatally shot 5 times. Unfortunately, this is just one example of police brutality, an instance when police use unnecessary force when either they are unarmed or are complying with orders. Today I want to tell you of the injustice of police brutality, the people it affects, and how just asking the right questions could make sure that police are punished for their crimes.
