“The rights of every man are diminished, when the rights of one man is threatened.” With this statement, John F. Kennedy at the time of 1963 the president of the United States, conveys the principle that all men are created equal no matter your what the color of your skin, your race, or your ethnicity you are equal. Even though so many have fought for equal rights and most people want it to be that way the reality is different. Police brutality is a fact of not only American life but for many others. People of minorities have always been subjected to violence by those in law enforcement. This issue is yet to be solved even though it has been a known problem since long ago. In many cities all over the country, officers are abusing their authority and most of the time they will never even be investigated and when they are it is always a very mild punishment compared to if a regular citizen would have done the same thing. Law enforcement officers carry guns, they are given special privileges and hold a lot of responsibility. Police officers are trusted and expected to respect laws and society at all times. Taking all of this into consideration police officers do in fact break laws quite often. With this knowledge in hand we must do something to minimize police brutality. There are many ways possible of reducing brutality and race discrimination by police. First option is more control of the police by demanding all police officers to wear body cameras at all times.
