According to research gathered by Arizona University, half of all teenagers think that prescription drugs are safer than street drugs. Unfortunately half of the teenagers are clueless when it comes to prescription medication and what it can do to everyday people who take advantage of it. Most people don't actually know what is in the pills the doctor prescribes for them for headaches or other body aches and the fact that they actually contain highly addictive substances which are spread throughout over the counter and supermarket pain killers.
Pain killers were first discovered throughout the early 19th century with the use of opium poppies.

They would go for years taking these pills every day and not think twice of the consequences. Because of the addictive tendencies of Valium, withdrawal symptoms were a price that had to be paid. The women felt desperate without the help of their little friends and couldn’t sleep, clean, or look after their children properly.
Prescription drugs are the most commonly used drug alongside marijuana in Teens aged 13-17. But are teenagers really old enough to know the effects? Sure, the short term effects may make them feel ‘positive’ and spreads the good vibes but the long term effects are devastating for not only them but their families as well.
At least 106, 000 people die each year from drugs which are properly prescribed compared to 15,000 deaths from illegal drugs including cocaine and heroin. Now, I'm not saying that illegal drugs are safe in any way and they should never be touched but do we really know what are we doing to ourselves when we take a tablet for a measly little headache? Legally prescribed drugs now cause more deaths than traffic accidents in the US and cause more deaths than cocaine and heroin combined which are both class A
