The MLB has discussed if they should expand the thirty teams in the league to thirty-two teams in recent years. This makes room for two cities to acquire a team to bring their city a new, exciting way to enjoy a night out in their city. Many cities have been fighting for one of these two spots, but one sticks out more than the rest. If the MLB wants to expand and have a successful franchise in a new city they need to view Charlotte as a strong candidate for many reasons, like the rapid growth of the city and the minor league success. Rob Manfred, the commissioner of the MLB, has even stated that he has looked at Charlotte as a strong possibility.
Baseball is considered by many to be America’s favorite pastime. Softball in many aspects is similar to baseball but in reality it is harder to play. This can be shown in all aspects of the game from hitting to pitching to fielding to catching. One major aspect where the difference is obvious is hitting. It has been scientifically proven that a 95 mph fastball generates 2411 lbs of force as it crosses the plate and a softball thrown at 65mph generates even more according to youtube.com.
Softball means everything to me I love everything about it, it’s my stress reliever and my anger management. When I feel
Another reason why you you should play is because like I said earlier, there is many positions to choose from that you could play. All of you option are pitcher, catcher, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, shortstop, and all of the outfield places. If you are better at one position than another one, your coach could place you were they think would be the best at. My final reason why you should play softball is because you might even have fun playing this sport. I think that it is a very fun sport to play.
The third reason people should play baseball is because it helps keep you healthy through exercise. For example, in the article “Top 10 Health Benefits of Baseball” by Health Fitness Revolution, it says, “Swinging, running, catching and even walking to and from the dugout are exercises that may amp up your metabolism and burn calories.” People can burn a lot of calories and won’t have to stay constantly running. But when you do run, it makes your heart stronger.
If softball does not make it back into the Olympics soon, the IOC (International Olympic Committee) will be robbing softball players of their dreams. There is a good deal of little girls in the world that would do anything to be part of and Olympic team. Lauren Gibson (an infielder for the U.S. softball team) agrees with this statement when she says she wants “for everybody else who dreams about playing in the Olympics, to at least have the ability to have that chance” (qtd. In Hays). Softball should be in the Olympics because it has enough competition from other countries, it needs the chance to be able to spread worldwide, and it is desired by the future Olympic hosts, like Japan.
Almost everyone makes a goal for the new year; not many people accomplish their goal. The people who keep their goal most likely had a plan for completion. This year, I have created a goal for myself; I want to challenge myself to be the best athlete I can be. This year, I hope to improve on giving softball my all. Sometimes in softball, I don’t give 110% as I should.
In this case softball should stay in the summer Olympic games. As a softball player the sport brings you a lot of health benefits. Softball provides total body conditioning. Softball burns calories and fat.
I. My heart’s pumping, my eyes are narrowed, and my veins are filled with adrenaline; I’m on a battle field. II. The sport of softball was invented in 1887, but since then, women’s fastpitch softball has gained much support. III.
The fresh lines on the dirt and the crisp cut grass, I just know I am at the softball field. Softball is not just a game it is my life, and I would be honored to attend Virginia Tech and be a part of the softball team. First, I would prefer to go to Virginia Tech, because they have a great coaching staff. Secondly, there nursing program is fabulous and I would love to be able to attend it. Finally, the team is always so energetic and I would be proud to be on a team like that.
Being involved in sports teaches vital life lessons that will promote you to overcome challenges you endure in everyday life. The passion and leadership required in the sport of softball reflect the qualities to be successful in my education. My life-long experiences in softball have helped me develop into the person I am today in pursuing my academic career. Through my background of being highly committed to the game, taking on leadership roles and balancing academics with athletics it has prepared me for college. Softball is very meaningful to me and is one of my main commitments.
I play softball because of the love I have for the game, and because of the feeling that takes my breath away every time I step onto the field. The softball field at Glendale Community College is now my new home for the next two years. Hearing your name being called and lining up alongside the first base line with your teammates before the game makes you feel worthy and excited to play such an amazing sport. As we gather in a tight circle just before we rush to our positions,
People think sports are just sports, but in reality to athletes it’s an escape from life, it’s our second family, and most important we feel like we belong there. Sports make you feel like your apart of something bigger than a team. Softball has been my second family and I have made so many amazing friendships that might last for the rest of life and even if they don’t, I will never forget all my friends or the memories that I have playing ball with
I like to spend my time outdoors, playing softball; it’s very important to be outside because you can enjoy the nature’s God has given us. Being outside is very soothing; it helps to focus on the important things in life. Nature is like a second home to humans. We can survive on our own in nature because we can live on the resources that are provided by nature.
In Japan, healthcare is significantly cheaper and the Japanese systems provides healthcare for all of their citizens. This differs from the U.S where we must buy our own healthcare or be fined for not having health insurance. In the U.S we have to pay a copay to see a doctor and that can range anywhere from 15-50 dollars, and this is with health insurance. Without health insurance it is much more expensive to see a doctor. In Japan it is $20 to see a doctor even without insurance (Wanjek, 2009).
