The MLB has discussed if they should expand the thirty teams in the league to thirty-two teams in recent years. This makes room for two cities to acquire a team to bring their city a new, exciting way to enjoy a night out in their city. Many cities have been fighting for one of these two spots, but one sticks out more than the rest. If the MLB wants to expand and have a successful franchise in a new city they need to view Charlotte as a strong candidate for many reasons, like the rapid growth of the city and the minor league success. Rob Manfred, the commissioner of the MLB, has even stated that he has looked at Charlotte as a strong possibility.
America is associated with words such as freedom, and bravery but the american experience is much deeper, it's about self-discovery, opportunity, and discovering what being an American really means. The American experience is unique and varies for each person whether it be a soldier, an immigrant, or a criminal turned civil rights activist. In both The things They Carried by Tim O’brien and The Autobiography of Malcolm X, the main characters experience challenges and self-discovery through their own American experiences. These experiences include struggle with moral dilemmas, religion and achieving the american dream.
Baseball is considered by many to be America’s favorite pastime. Softball in many aspects is similar to baseball but in reality it is harder to play. This can be shown in all aspects of the game from hitting to pitching to fielding to catching. One major aspect where the difference is obvious is hitting. It has been scientifically proven that a 95 mph fastball generates 2411 lbs of force as it crosses the plate and a softball thrown at 65mph generates even more according to youtube.com.
Softball means everything to me I love everything about it, it’s my stress reliever and my anger management. When I feel
“Crack” the ball fly’s off the bat. A grand slam by Libby Leach. Today I’m am going to teach you about softball. All the bases, positions, batters, pitchers and a lot more. So hold on to your bats and here we go!
Softball In my my paper I will tell you why you, or other people should play softball. Softball is fun to play, in my opinion, and I think that if you tried it you could have fun or become a fantastic softball player. If you just tried softball and decide to keep at it you could become one of the greatest softball players that ever lived, so that is why I think that you should just try it. Softball is a sport played by women unless it is coed then it can also be played with men.
JD Baumann #2 People Should Play Baseball Have you ever wondered which sport to play? Even though there are many sports to choose from, I think people should play baseball. Baseball is a game that you play on a field called a diamond. You play offence and defence. When you are on offence, you hit the baseball that the pitcher throws to you.
If softball does not make it back into the Olympics soon, the IOC (International Olympic Committee) will be robbing softball players of their dreams. There is a good deal of little girls in the world that would do anything to be part of and Olympic team. Lauren Gibson (an infielder for the U.S. softball team) agrees with this statement when she says she wants “for everybody else who dreams about playing in the Olympics, to at least have the ability to have that chance” (qtd. In Hays). Softball should be in the Olympics because it has enough competition from other countries, it needs the chance to be able to spread worldwide, and it is desired by the future Olympic hosts, like Japan.
I have a plan to become a better athlete. Part of my softball practice each week, is going to EM Speed and Power; we participate once a week. My plan this year is to go twice a week instead; all I have to do is make time in my schedule. I will try to do an hour of batting cages and an hour of conditioning at EM. Besides EM, I wont to practice on my own.
At present, the future of softball is looking pretty good. Softball has become one of the most popular sports for family and work functions, church groups, parent groups and many more organizations. What’s more, some of the main reasons for this are because it’s easy to play and it usually doesn’t require a lot of equipment to join in on the fun. During these events you might feel it unnecessary to bring your own equipment.
Being involved in sports teaches vital life lessons that will promote you to overcome challenges you endure in everyday life. The passion and leadership required in the sport of softball reflect the qualities to be successful in my education. My life-long experiences in softball have helped me develop into the person I am today in pursuing my academic career. Through my background of being highly committed to the game, taking on leadership roles and balancing academics with athletics it has prepared me for college. Softball is very meaningful to me and is one of my main commitments.
Emily Mayes 617 Mrs.Blackburn September 7th 2016 Being a Expert on Softball “The way of life, or just a sport?” Some sounds only softball players know, for example the ball when it hits the bat or the pattern of their breathing when there rounding 2nd. Newbie players might know these sounds but lifetimes know exactly what I'm talking about. But being an expert at softball doesn't necessarily mean they're the best one on the field it means that when they are out on the field they play with there heart, and they give 110% every time there metals hit the dirt, and if they don't play with there heart and they don't give 110% they shouldn't play softball.
I play softball because of the love I have for the game, and because of the feeling that takes my breath away every time I step onto the field. The softball field at Glendale Community College is now my new home for the next two years. Hearing your name being called and lining up alongside the first base line with your teammates before the game makes you feel worthy and excited to play such an amazing sport. As we gather in a tight circle just before we rush to our positions,
For the last eight years, softball has shaped my life and taught me many things about leadership, sportsmanship, and how to work as a team. Softball has always made me happy, it’s not just the sport that makes me happy, but it’s the place that I get to go and the people that I get to play it with. Every time I’m on the field or in the cages I feel the most content. The softball field and cages are my sanctuary.
I like to spend my time outdoors, playing softball; it’s very important to be outside because you can enjoy the nature’s God has given us. Being outside is very soothing; it helps to focus on the important things in life. Nature is like a second home to humans. We can survive on our own in nature because we can live on the resources that are provided by nature.
