Let's start with some basics, solar. This will probably be the backbone of our new energy grid. Not just in the form of solar farms, which will be important, but in homes all across America. Over time, each home in America will be equipped with solar roof tiles and become part of our nation's energy grid. Advances are being made all the time in researching solar, and one of the best new ones I've seen is solar roof tiles, made to look like shingles and installed in a similar manner.
So, going forward, all new home construction will have roofs made of solar shingles (provided something better doesn't come along, but we're going with this right now because it's what we have). All standard tar and asphalt shingles will be phased out completely during the changeover. Grants and low-interest loans can be applied for if your company makes shingles and you would like to be part of the future making solar shingles.
As older homes need roof repairs, they will be replaced with the newer solar shingles and help will be given by local electric companies to install the necessary inverters to complete the process.

To that end, I propose a partnership initiative to lease those lands to turn them into solar arrays, or wind farms, depending on which would work best in that area. Farmers who wish to learn the daily operations of this new venture will be given free education to become the foreman of each of these farms and put in charge of the daily operations. If they choose this option, they will be paid not only for the use of their land, but given a percentage of the profits each quarter. If they do not, then they will be given two options, they can continue to live on the property and be given a quarterly rent, or they can sell the property outright to the government and move on to find greener
