The SAT’s is a word no teenager is ever happy to hear. They are standardized tests that a highschool student must take to apply to colleges. These tests help a college see what a student is capable of in math, english, and reading. The test gives the same opportunity to all students. That is the only positive I see with the SATs. They put major stress on a student who is trying to find out what they want to do with their life. The test questions are also somewhat ridiculous to answer. Colleges should not base their decision to accept a student on a test like the SAT’s.

Junior year in high school is a very important year. Students start looking at colleges and think about what they want to do with their future. It is crazy how much pressure is put on a 17 or 18 year old. The SAT’s have a key role in the pressure. All I kept thinking when I was taking mine was my future. If I scored miserably low, how was it going to affect my future plans. I thought that colleges would not look past my SAT scores if they were low. I even thought that I would not get accepted anywhere and would have to work at McDonalds. My teachers urged my classmates and I to take the tests. IF we did not, we would not get into college. The vocabulary words given are very complex. Many words given in the test, I have never even heard before. Why does my future depend on me knowing what Crepuscular or Guffaw mean. The math equations are also very complex. They are very confusing and enormously long. The SAT’s consist of many long and complex questions in the subjects of reading, writing, math , and vocabulary. I do not understand why these complex questions are on the test. If there has to be SAT’d they should atleast make the questions easier and more
