A living nightmare. Explosions surround you as armed soldiers fill devastated streets. Vivid scenes showcase bullet wounds accompanied by screams from the nearly dead and the woes of victimized families. Innocent and powerless you flee with only the clothes on your back and the everlasting memories of utter brutality.

Everyone deserves human rights, from your neighbour down the road, to the offender sitting in a cell. Human rights should apply to everyone, no matter what they have done or how much they earn. They deserve human rights. But in reality, residents of war stricken countries like Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq don’t receive this basic “privilege”. Can you imagine being forced from your home? With Syria’s war killing hundreds of thousands, it’s completely understandable why people flee, but where are they going? The majority have headed within the Middle East. Turkey host the most Syrian refugees, with nearly 2 million residing there, closely followed by Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq. While these countries not facing a state of conflict like Syria, they are far from an economically desirable safe haven suitable, especially for families of young children. With the decrease in desirable countries accepting in particular, Muslim or Syrian refugees, what are they left with? A country that can’t fully cater to its own citizens needs, let alone theirs? What are these refugees truly left
