Although most Americans will argue that a forced city wide curfew goes against their rights as American citizens, it is a way to keep the children and people that live in their city or town. When children run the streets after certain time limits, it becomes reckless and unsafe. They run the risk of getting seriously hurt, killed, or commit a crime. Kids that don’t do anything wrong are getting punished by the curfew. It’s not fair to punish all for one’s mistake.
Later School Start Times “‘I’ve gained an hour of sleep,’ she said. ‘I definitely feel a lot better. I find myself waking up around 7:30 without an alarm because it’s a natural time. It’s a great, great feeling.’” Says Lily Grey Rudges, a high school student in Seattle(At these schools, later start times get an A-plus for youths needing more sleep).
As assigned by Professor Fuller I attend an Alcoholics anonymous meeting Saturday evening at the Hibbs building. I was terrified because I attend alone, but I knew if I read the script she prepared for us I would be fine. Arriving at the meeting I was surprised to see so many young faces, and immediately inspired by these Millennials ability to identify their issues and make active changes toward a productive lifestyle. I could tell a few of the attendees were returning members, but to my relief this group truly attained new members that would take the pressure off of me. As the meeting progressed, in the same fashion shown on television shows, members introduced themselves and began to share.
The Debate on Trying Juveniles as Adults Juvenile justice is a topic of great importance in our society. When it comes to heinous, felony crimes such as murder and rape, the question of whether juveniles should be tried, adjudicated, and sentenced as adults is a highly debated topic. In my opinion, juveniles who commit such crimes should be treated as adults Juveniles should be tried as adults due to the severity of their heinous, felony crimes and the importance of holding them accountable, while also considering the necessity of rehabilitation within the juvenile justice system My first reason for believing that juveniles who commit heinous, felony crimes should be tried, adjudicated, and sentenced as adults these crimes are incredibly serious and have a significant impact on society. These crimes cause physical and emotional harm to victims and their families, and they create a sense of fear and insecurity in society.
Since the early 20th Century there has been great debate whether youth having a youth curfew law violates the constitution. According to legal-dictionary, a curfew is when local ordinances and state statutes may make it unlawful for minors below a certain age to be on public streets, unless they are accompanied by a parent or an adult or on lawful and necessary business on behalf of their parents or guardians. In recent years, a number of local juvenile curfew laws have been challenged on the grounds that the laws violate the First Amendment and other guarantees provided under U.S. and state constitutions. I believe that the law does not violate a juvenile’s constitutional rights and has many benefits when it comes to controlling and preventing

Banning Students from Driving to School High school students should not ban student’s commuting to reduce traffic and tardiness problems. Certain students should be banned if they are considered “reckless drivers.” Banning good, safe drivers for something that the reckless cause is not fair. Students that are old enough to have a license should be mature enough to know not to be tardy. Although it may be dangerous, driving is a great way to learn about some adult responsibilities.
Many people argue whether school start times should stay the same or become later in the day. Most students already don't get enough sleep during the night and that can affect their learning experience in school (Wahlstrom). However some positive effects can still come from waking up early in the morning and getting to school around the same time. Although good can come from waking up early in the morning and sleeping in, students still need later school starting times to improve their overall health.
and go to bed after eleven at night. School systems should heed medical advice and move the starting time of schools back two hours. The starting time of schools should change because teenagers would learn more information. Students being more awake and alert during classes would increase their absorption of knowledge needed in their future careers.
The opportunity for a one-time juvenile delinquent to have their record expunged would probably come at the end of a chapter in their life that they would like to forget. At one time or another in our childhood, we did some things that we were not proud of and would want to forget. For the most part, we did it out of immaturity or simply not considering the consequences of our actions. I have come across a lot of juveniles in my life and even some adults were the only thing that separates my story from their story, is one or two bad decisions. I have come across criminals who have had similar or better childhoods than myself.

My descriptive setting was set in dystopia. A future no one would prefer to be in: the complete opposite of Utopia. One of the aspects I’m fond of with my descriptive piece is my title ‘Curfew’. I wanted my main focus to be isolation and darkness. The whole point of curfew is usually to get home before it gets dark and most teenagers have a curfew due to the fact that when it gets dark, it is not as safe.
