An important and impactful U.S. document, known as the Declaration of Independence states “ …that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people are like ordinary U.S. citizens and deserve the same freedoms. As of now, discrimination of a certain race being higher than another, is not the only problem. LGBT people around the U.S. are being harassed, discriminated, and freedoms and rights are being taken away. Parents of children do not need to make the decision of moving to improve financial security or living in a state where their family is accepted and recognized. People can be living legally in one state, but the states that have not legalized this issue ban them from being there. “Freedom of movement, mobility rights, or the right to travel is a human rights concept encompassing the right of individuals to travel from place to place within the territory of a country, and to leave the country and return to it.” If this is a right, the states that have not legalized LGBT are taking away this freedom. “I am hopeful that the justices will stand on the die of all of America’s families and children by ensuring that loving, committed couples will have their relationships honored no matter their home state.” People of whatever sex should be accepted anywhere, and everywhere. “... denial of equal civil recognition of same-sex relationships prevents many people from accessing a range of other rights, such as rights to housing and social security, and stigmatizes those relationships in ways that can fuel discrimination and other human rights abuses against people based on their sexual orientation or gender
