Throughout your whole life you will hear the word success and what people say that word means, but is there really a true definition for it? Everyone thinks differently so the definition varies from person to person, most people would say it means getting the promotion they worked for or winning a sports game. To me success is being happy with my life, being where I want and doing what I love, which is art. Even though becoming an artist may not be very prosperous, it will bring me true success. I don’t want to be just an artist, more specifically, I want to be a tattooist. A tattooist is a person who makes tattoos and can do other body modifications. Becoming a tattooist doesn’t require any formal education, all you have to do is get an apprenticeship and pass an exam but qualifications do vary from state to state. Since this profession is international the salary varies, in the United States the annual salary was $33,000 but it all depends on how well known you are. Some tattooist, like Mark Mahoney, makes more money because they are so well known and have such a good reputation. It also depends on the hours you work in a week; normally a work week is thirty to forty hours, which is five to six days but it all depends on the shop you work at. Since there really is no professional group for this job, finding a shop that is well known and hiring may be hard, but you can’t always start at the top of the pyramid.
