For the better half of this the United States Women’s National soccer team has been making a tremendous amount of progress in women’s soccer. More specifically since the national team bringing home the World Cup trophy back to the U.S for the time in sixteen years. The national team has captured the attention of the nation with women’s soccer and in response has voiced that women’s soccer is here to stay, that they are just as good as the men, if not even better. For instance, in just putting focus on their performance in the World Cup is something to be proud of as a country. This team has had so many setbacks before the World Cup even began, such as Hope Solo’s legal issues, Alex Morgan’s injuries, and with the issue of a new coach being put in place months before the tournament began. They became the first women’s team in any sport to be honored with a ticker-taper parade in New York. As well, they have been gaining so much attention on themselves that it’s changing the way the nation views women’s soccer. Not only are they gaining more respect as team they are also continuing to break records as of today, such as their victory bringing in record breaking crowd attendances to their games all throughout the country. Also, the National Women’s League has become more successful because of the World Cup win and they have now established a new team in the upcoming season. The national team’s win has done so much for women’s soccer that it has inspired a vast amount of young girls to pursue soccer and achieve their dreams. As well, it’s also the little things that are taking women’s soccer further, such as the games being broadcast on television now instead of being presented online. All of these things add up to the advancement of women’s soccer and in taking it further than ever
