The "Modern Hunter-Gatherer" by Michael Pollan, is an article about a new hunter's perspective on the new experiences that he encountered before and after his hunt. In the article he touches on how he found a thrill in hunting and how he was more in touch with nature than he had ever been. But along with the pleasures that he found in hunting, he discusses the inhumanity that he felt come too. Pollan in this article wants to show the contrast between the euphoric feelings that humans feel and the darkness that some people realize that come along with harming the animals. Hunting is an activity and life skill in some cases that was necessary in the times where hunters and gatherers were prominent in the Earth.
Everyday, the sun rises in the morning and sets at night, but the debate about hunting always remains on the table. Hunters see their killing of an animal as an achievement, they put food on their tables, or a mount on their wall. Critics see this as a cruel way for a human being to take the life of an innocent animal. In the article “Is hunting a moral? A philosopher unpacks the question” written by Joshua Duclos, examined the question of why people hunt.
It is springtime across America and this means Turkey season is upon us in many areas of the country. Turkey hunting is a demanding, yet rewarding sport. Large Tom or male turkeys are the dream of many hunters with their long beard and spurs. These large birds have keen eyesight and are wary of intruders into their home range. Harvesting a large Tom offers a challenge just as impressive as a trophy whitetail, elk, or any other game animal.
Hunting Hunting is a topic that is argued frequently. Some say it is cruel and unsafe. Others say it is safe and provides meat for food. In my opinion, I think hunting is safe and isn’t cruel because the animal has time to get away from the hunter. I do not support unethical hunting practices such as baiting, canned hunting, trophy hunting, and hunting of stocked animals.
In the long run, killing these animals will only result in endangerment of the species. I don’t see the wrong with hunting for food and/or hunting for survival. However, hunting to control population or simply for bragging rights, is what I considered
Pro-Hunting Argument To hunt or not to hunt, many see it as a negative and its being cruel to animals. Other think if humans keep hunting, animals are going to go extinct. But what many don’t know is how much hunting helps animals and the conservation of animals. People that don’t know what really is going on they always head toward the negative. I’m Going to explain how hunting helps wildlife and how Hunting permits are good because they help maintain animal conservation.
Duck shooting is a controversial topic at the moment with duck season approaching. Duck hunting should remain legal in Victoria. The number of ducks killed every year are kept under control, conservationists determine that the duck numbers every year flourish, the duck season is important for the economy. It is also important to recognise that duck hunting is the equivalent to fishing. The following paragraphs support the fact that duck hunting should be legal in Victoria.
People working against animal cruelty sometimes place hunting in that category. Similar to commercials for animal rescue leagues, they take the worst cases they have ever seen and put them on display in hopes of invoking feelings of guilt and disgust in their viewers. They associate hunting with cruel human behavior by highlighting the consequences seen by showing off those animals, thus persuading people to fight for limits or bans on hunting in their area. While both sides are constantly pursuing new members and activists, some people still tend to go back to their roots and experiences with the sport to determine their opinion of it.
The harvested amount of deer in Missouri for 2016 was 185,066 that is too much compared to the amount of deer that are still alive. I have a friend who has a farm in Belle Missouri. Their neighbor took twenty-four deer this past rifle season. My goal is to persuade to you that if we got rid of the november season for rifle we could up our population of deer. Therefore we could also have bigger deer.
Hunting people say it's like catching a fish in a barrel but in many cases it's not altho every once in a while it is like that but that only comes a few times to a hunter. It's cruel but the hunters just trying to get one clean shot and put it down catching fish in a barrel i don't know why i choose but it just pisses me off when people say that hunters are just in it for the big rack that's not only the case but a big rack is always positive people are starting to forget where we came from the way of life that got us through when there was no tofu when we just had livestock and grains and wildlife to eat. Big rack there's never anything negative about a guy that just shot a big bull in the hunting community but if you post it to facebook here comes all the dam snowflakes saying that you killed an innocent animal that it didn't need to die yet
Some may disagree that hunting’s purpose is to hunt the animals only and not to destroy their ecosystem which is true sometimes. They agree
In addition, the detrimental wildlife issues that would emerge if hunting were no longer an option to keep animal populations under control would increase significantly. The idea of keeping hunting alive is crucial to keep our wildlife safe. Hunting may not apply to all people in the world, but it has to be done. In today’s world there is no other possible way to manage our wildlife in such an effective manner as we do it now. What people need to realize and accept is the fact that hunting does not harm the animals as severely as leaving them to overpopulate does.
Hunting has been a part of our society since the first man set foot on this continent, but animal rights movements have become popular in our society recently that has questioned the necessity of hunting in our modern times. Because of this, animal populations are left freely to where they can multiply at an alarming rate. Hunting is a great means of controlling animal populations’ growth, although greatly opposed by many. While hunting is a very controversial topic in our society, there are great points for being for and against it. Hunting is a way that humans see to keep balance of the ecosystem.
