It was a dark and stormy night… Speaker one(Nic) is slowly and sexily strutting through the hallways like it’s a New York catwalk, s/he is dramatically staring at the camera for about twenty seconds, not saying a word. finally they speak. Speaker two(Zoe) is sitting in the window, staring outside dramatically, lost in thought. A cough is heard off camera, speaker two is startled, but turns to face the camera, assuming a serious face. Speaker three(Will) sits on the other side of the tinted window staring past speakers one and two and into the camera. Speaker one: Every day, 720 people report being sexually assaulted, with many more refusing to come forward, with an estimated 1.3 million victims of sexual assault yearly. These young people are taken advantage of, abused, and physically harmed in order for another to experience temporary pleasure. Our society tends to blame the victims of these crimes, claiming that they were “asking for it” or somehow provoked their attacker into committing the crime. And while sometimes the victim has been found at fault, rarely is anyone but the assailant to blame for their actions. …show more content…
