The suspect Nikolas Cruz nineteen year old was the school shooter in Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Law enforcement sources said the suspect used a .223 caliber, AR-15 style firearm in the shooting. He came to school with that gun loaded, with classes in session he pulls it out injuring seventeen kids and twelve that were killed inside the building and two outside. He pulled the fire alarm and went in to blend in with kids that are leaving the school. He went to subway and then a police officer found him and took him into custody. Cruz has ADHD, autism and has a mental disorder. The records show that Cruz sent out a Snapchat video in which he cut his arms, wanted to buy a gun, suffered from depression and attention-deficit/hyperactivity …show more content…

Anyone can bring a gun into school without anyone knowing in their backpack or their duffle bag. Mostly anyone can carry a gun around the hallways because usually there’s no one walking in the hallways of the school while class is in session. There are cameras in the schools, but sometimes the security don’t even pay attention to the cameras at all. That’s why some kids can sneak drugs to school and use it while in process. The government has to think more about school threats or schoolings that happen more and more. Some people including teachers, the school board and parents that are concerned or upset already have taken action about shootings and threats. What the government can do about these serious situations is that they can upgrade some of the laws to get a gun to add on to the license or permit to make sure that these things won’t happen. One of my solutions is if a few of the police officers could patrol the hallways while school in session. If there is a shooting threating the school I would think the police officers would see that someone is carry a weapon of some kind. Another solution is health standards for getting a gun permit or license. Schools can put metal detectors at the entrance of the school to where kids come into
