A lot of regulatory boards are pushing for firms to be more environment-friendly and this has caused a stir among a lot of businesses especially in the food and beverage industry. Companies have started moving to recyclable materials in order to help in saving the environment, and a lot of organizations are giving out different awards in an attempt to encourage more firms to make the move to more sustainable ways of running businesses. Legal In order to be able to put up a business in the Philippines, there are some steps that the owners have to follow in order to be able to operate a business in the Philippines. The first step is to visit the City hall of the municipality that the business will eventually be located in and go to the Business Permits Licensing Office (BPLO). They will ask you to fill-up a registration form completely and have it notarized and submitted along with a couple of documents namely: Lease Contract, Business name registration with the Department of Trade and Industry, Barangay Clearance, sketch of the location, occupancy permit, locational clearance, public liability insurance, and a community tax certificate (cedula). After you have submitted the requirements, the licensing officer will then be assessed and recommended by the licensing officer. It is mainly comprised of restaurants, food stalls, fast food restaurants also known as quick-service restaurants, cafés, restobars and many more companies that is in the business of the selling of food and/or beverages, as the name implies.
