Peta Is Bad Essay

The first reason PETA is bad is that it targets children. For example, "PETA has used body shaming to convert kids to vegan diets." (Are your kids getting PETA propaganda in school?) What does this mean exactly? Since PETA wants to help animals, they target kids because they like animals more than adults. They try to make the kids vegan so they won't eat meat, but the methods they use are awful. They try to body-shame kids into having such a bad self-image that they become vegans. Another way Peta targets kids is through the games they have made, such as "Peta’s Pokemon gotta free em all" (Katherine, p. 1). Peta uses knockoffs of popular kid games such as Pokemon to spread their propaganda towards kids and paint a horrible picture of animal captivity in an attempt to convert kids. This shows that PETA is terrible because they body-shame kids and use popular kid games to convert kids into vegans.

One example is their chicken truck "They call the truck hell on wheels and it includes recorded sounds of bird cries. the text on the truck said "Does this bother you? then go vegan." (Blaskovich Pg1) In addition to the truck, they go around restaurants and blast the sounds of birds crying while people are eating, in an attempt to guilt-trip them into becoming vegan. There is more to this as well, like this one "a replica chicken transport truck covered with images of real chickens crammed into crates on the way to the slaughterhouse" (Blaskovich, p. 1). They use the truck to make people feel awful about eating chicken with their grim imagery to win them over and try to make them vegans.
