When I was 14 years-old I got my first job at a family diner that was “circus themed”. The roof looked like the top of a circus tent and the menu had a tendency of naming specialty burgers and cheesesteaks things like, the “fire-eater” and the “side-show”. I worked there for five years before the restaurant closed in 2016. Although the closest the establishment ever got to incorporating animals was hiring a bi-weekly clown who made balloon animals, when the building went up for sale PETA put in an offer on the building with plans of converting it into an “Animal Torture Museum” for children. The tweet most controversially suggests that Disney should create princesses who have had abortions and who are pro-choice. Other suggestions made by the official Planned Parenthood twitter account were for Disney to create undocumented princesses, transgender princesses, and union worker princesses. While the unnamed author of this article seems to consider this tweet as genuine suggestions for Walt Disney Pictures, I think it is rather evident that Planned Parenthood tweeted these suggestions in an attempt to start conversations about these political issues among twitter users than to actually promote the creation of these princesses, as PETA did in the sale of my former workplace. However, while I agree with the author that Disney creating princesses which have certain characteristics and experiences may be inappropriate I do not think that some of the suggestions Planned Parenthood made for future Princesses are completely bad or pushing a politically left
