The influence of adult figures in a child's life is very important. If you look at all the kids that grew up to be alcoholics and drug addicts: Most of them grew up in a poor family situation; divorced parents, abusive parents, neglectful parents, and many more. All those points I listed lead back to one factor: The parents. In the book Peter Pan by James M. Barrie, Peter Pan doesn't want to grow up because he has poor adult influence in his life.

In my opinion, kids shouldn't grow up too fast; every child needs the childhood experience in their life in order to grow up to be an adult. Jordan peterson seems to think that kids should grow up a lot faster that they should. Jordan says: “ you have to sacrifice the pure potentiality of childhood for the actuality of a frame. And the question is ‘well why would you do that?’ well one reason is it happens to you whether you do it or not. You can either choose your limitation or you can let it take you unaware."He's saying this because the later you realize you need to grow up and be mature, the worse off you are.
