Throughout my high school career, Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics have been the courses that I have thoroughly enjoyed the most and have been an integral part of my education. Working as a pharmacist will enable me to combine three of my favourite academic courses and allow me to apply it on a day-to-day basis. Chemistry is an imperative subject to know because pharmacists have to understand the interaction between different drugs. Having a solid foundation of mathematics is essential because pharmacists have to utilize their mathematical skills to solve problems such as figuring out the right amount of dosage that the patient needs. Through the program, I learned that having critical thinking skills and precision are essential components of becoming pharmacists. For instance, the program was stimulating as I discovered that the most important thing a pharmacist does is to check if there are any harmful interactions between medications. It fascinates me that such a little pill can create an enormous difference in a person 's life. I take medications, but I don 't know what happens to it after I eat it. I hope to go to university to learn more about how medications are produced and how they work to make us feel better. As part of my Global Studies Diploma offered at my school, I am currently enrolled in a course called Global Health. This course is emphasizing the importance of vaccines and medications in the global context. The Global Studies Programme has allowed me to have a global perspective of health and has reinforced the importance of drugs. Being a First Responder at my school has allowed me to become patient oriented, improved my bedside manner and has allowed me to think
