DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE FORMS OF GOVERNMENT (PHILIPPINES AND SPANISH)
Over time, the forms of government of the Philippines and Spain changed which led to many differences. One is of which the Spanish government being an absolute monarchy, though using a colonial government on colonies. On the other hand, present day Philippines is currently under a democratic government wherein most of decisions are made through voting. These include who become presidents, vice presidents, senators, mayors, etc. New rules are voted on by the whole government body as well.

The head of the house of representatives was the speaker for all. On the other hand, the Spanish just had the governor general and the king. The responsibility of this branch hasn’t changed as they still have the job of creating the laws for everyone to follow.
Judiciary Branch
Back then, the judicial branch consists of the Royal Audiencia, the Residencia, the lower courts, and the Governor-General. The Royal Audiencia is the highest court out of the whole Judiciary branch who occasionally send annual reports to Spain. The Audiencia plays the role of the advisory body to the Governor-General. The Audiencia has the power to check and report if the Governor-General abuses. However, the Governor-General regularly gets away with his stiff fines, suspension, or dismissal by bribing the investigators. The Audiencia is also tasked to investigate the expenditures of the colonial government.
