They have to use energy from the sun to stay alive. Everything has to have an energy source and it comes from the sun. Photosynthesis and respiration are very important for plant life on Earth. Photosynthesis is a process used by plants and o†her organisms to convert light energy into chemical energy that can later be released to fuel the organisms activities. The process of photosynthesis is plants make glucose, from carbon dioxide and water which is given off as a byproduct. …show more content…

Net Photosynthesis CO2 in light control – CO2 in light = 50mm – 35mm = 15MM CO2 3. Total Photosynthesis = 15mm CO2 + 7.4MM CO2 = 22.4mm CO2 4. 24 hours of Net Photosynthesis 12 hours of Light = 15mm CO2 x 12hrs = 180mm CO2 Dark cannot be solve for because of the container breaking Discussion In this experiment we learned that the dark control could not be measured because Klevaniesha dropped the container and broke it. The dark was not suppose to be lower than the light because of photosynthesis. It must have been an error somewhere. The light supposed to been the lowest out of all of the containers. The light control took more drops because it was not a plant to take any of the carbon dioxide. The light plant too some carbon dioxide for photosynthesis. If I had to do this experiment over I would making sure Klevaniesha does not drop the dark container again. Appendix 1: Test Problems A. 78mm CO2 41 drops of NaOH = 37mm CO2 used for photosynthesis and respiration during 1 hour B. 1g = 3mm CO2 (from example 2) 1.6g = 1.6 x 3 = 4.8mm CO2 (respiration rate) Total Photosynthesis: 37mm CO2 + 4.8mm CO2 = 41.8mm CO2 Appendix 2:
